When using wet electrostatic precipitator to treat waste gas containing heavy metals, it can effectively remove harmful substances in the waste gas through a series of safe and efficient purification processes.

1. Working principle

Electrostatic precipitation: wet electrostatic precipitator uses high-voltage electric field to charge the particles in the gas, and then moves to the dust collecting electrode under the action of the electric field force and deposits on the dust collecting electrode.

Wet cleaning: The dust collecting electrode is cleaned by spraying water or atomized water to wash away the deposited dust to form dust-containing wastewater.

Heavy metal capture: For waste gas containing heavy metals, wet electrostatic precipitator can effectively capture fine heavy metal particles such as lead, mercury, cadmium, etc.

2. Safe and efficient purification process

Pretreatment stage: Before the waste gas enters the dust collector, it may need to undergo pretreatment, such as cooling and conditioning, to meet the operating conditions of the dust collector.

Ionization and sedimentation: In a high-voltage electric field, the particles in the gas are ionized and charged, and then move to the dust collecting electrode and deposit under the action of the electric field force.

Wet cleaning: Regularly spray water to clean the dust collecting electrode, wash off the deposited dust, and form dust-containing wastewater. This process can effectively remove heavy metal particles adhering to the dust collecting electrode.

Wastewater treatment: Dust-containing wastewater needs to be further treated to remove heavy metal ions and prevent secondary pollution. Common methods include chemical precipitation, ion exchange, membrane separation, etc.

3. Safety measures

Anti-corrosion design: Since the wet environment is being treated, the equipment needs to use anti-corrosion materials, such as fiberglass, stainless steel, etc., to prevent corrosion.

Explosion-proof measures: For exhaust gas that may contain flammable gases, explosion-proof measures need to be taken, such as installing explosion-proof electrical equipment and setting up pressure relief devices.

Monitoring and control: Equipped with an online monitoring system to monitor the concentration of heavy metals in the exhaust gas and the operating status of the dust collector in real time to ensure the purification effect.

4. Efficient operation strategy

Optimize electric field parameters: Improve ionization efficiency and capture effect by adjusting electric field voltage, current and other parameters.

Reasonable spray system: Design a reasonable spray system to ensure uniform wetting of the dust collecting electrode surface and improve the dust cleaning effect.

Regular maintenance: Regularly check and clean the dust collecting electrode, replace worn parts, and ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment.

Through the above measures, the wet electrostatic precipitator can achieve a safe and efficient purification process when treating waste gas containing heavy metals, effectively protecting the environment and human health.
