What are the possible faults of wet electrostatic precipitator during operation?

Publish Time: 2025-02-19
As an important air purification equipment in modern industry, wet electrostatic precipitator may encounter various faults during operation, which not only affect the dust removal efficiency of the equipment, but also pose a threat to the production environment and personnel safety. Therefore, understanding and preventing these faults is crucial to ensure the stable operation of wet electrostatic precipitator.

The primary fault that may occur during the operation of wet electrostatic precipitator is electrical fault. This type of fault usually manifests itself as the failure of the power supply device to deliver power, abnormal voltage or current during operation, etc. The causes of electrical faults may include damage to electrical components, such as fuse blowing, high-voltage silicon rectifier breakdown, etc., and improper adjustment or cracking of the corona electrode. In addition, the damage and cracking of the through-wall porcelain bushing and column insulator may also cause the electric field to be grounded, thereby causing electrical faults.

In addition to electrical faults, wet electrostatic precipitator may also fail due to unstable operation. Common manifestations of this type of fault include low or drastic temperature changes caused by improper temperature control of the insulator box, excessive fouling of the precipitation electrode caused by blockage of the gas distribution grid, and frequent electric field flashover caused by improper water film regulation. These faults will not only reduce the dust removal efficiency, but also cause damage to the equipment.

It is worth noting that the flushing system of the wet electrostatic precipitator is also a fault-prone area. Due to damage to the filter screen in the system or untimely treatment, impurities may enter the flushing water system, causing nozzle blockage. This will not only affect the flushing effect of the wet depolarization line and the plate, but may also cause excessive resistance to the operation of the equipment, and even cause the electric field to be destroyed. Therefore, regular inspection and cleaning of the filter screen and keeping the flushing system clean are the key to preventing such faults.

In addition, the wet electrostatic precipitator may encounter some other problems during operation, such as leakage of expansion joints, corrosion leakage of flues and bodies, etc. These problems are usually related to the material selection, installation quality and operating environment of the equipment. Therefore, when purchasing equipment, attention should be paid to the performance and corrosion resistance of the material; during the installation process, the connection of each component should be ensured to be tight and the seal should be good; during operation, the corrosion of the equipment should be checked regularly, and timely measures should be taken to repair and protect it.

In summary, there are many kinds of failures that may occur during the operation of the wet electrostatic precipitator, which requires us to comprehensively consider and prevent from multiple aspects such as the electrical system, operation stability, flushing system and equipment material. Only by ensuring the stable operation of the equipment can its dust removal efficiency be fully utilized and contribute to industrial production and environmental protection.
